Effective Jan. 1, 2025, the Medicare Part D Coverage Gap stage or “donut hole” is eliminated. On CarePlus plans with prescription drug coverage, once a member pays $2,000 out-of-pocket for plan-covered prescription drugs, member enters the Catastrophic stage.
All CarePlus members enrolled in a plan with prescription drug coverage pay $0 for all plan-covered prescription drugs once they reach the Catastrophic Stage. This includes any Part D excluded drugs that are covered by CarePlus. See the plan’s Prescription Drug Guide for coverage details.
Get help managing your prescription drug payments
Effective Jan. 1, 2025, members enrolled in plans with prescription drug coverage can opt in to the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan.
After opting in to the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan:
- Costs for your covered Part D prescriptions are spread out over the plan year.
- You pay $0 at the pharmacy when you fill new or existing covered Part D prescriptions.
- You’ll receive a monthly bill from CarePlus with the amount you owe, your due date, and instructions on how to make a payment.
While this optional program might help you manage your expenses during the plan year (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31), it does not save you money or lower your drug costs. Please note that CarePlus will not charge interest on any amount due.
