Low-income Subsidy (Extra Help)
Medicare’s low-income subsidy (LIS) program, also known as Extra Help, provides assistance for prescription drug costs such as deductibles and copays.
If you have limited income, you may be eligible for Extra Help.
Mail-order Pharmacy
If your CarePlus plan covers Part D drugs, there are several ways you can fill your prescriptions, including retail or mail-order pharmacies. CenterWell Pharmacy™ is our preferred mail-order pharmacy.
If you have trouble paying for your medication, you can contact CenterWell Pharmacy and inquire about offerings like Tier Exception, Specialty Copay Assistance, and Specialty Invoice assistance, which may reduce and sometimes even defer costs at the pharmacy. Depending on your plan, you may even pay as little as $0 for certain Tier 1 and Tier 2 generic drugs.
To explore your options and see if you qualify, call CenterWell Pharmacy at 1-800-526-1490 (TTY: 711), Monday – Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Other pharmacies are available in our network. To find which pharmacies are available in our network,
Medication Management Therapy
The Medication Management Therapy program promotes collaboration between you, your pharmacist, and your prescribing doctor for safe and effective medication use. The goal of this program is to improve health outcomes by focusing on safety, effectiveness, lower-cost alternatives, and adherence.
Medicare Prescription Payment Plan
The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan (MPPP) is an optional program that can help you manage your prescription payments. With this program:
- Costs for your covered Part D prescriptions are spread out over the plan year.
- You pay $0 at the pharmacy when you fill new or existing covered Part D prescriptions.
- You’ll receive a monthly bill from CarePlus with the amount you owe, your due date, and instructions on how to make a payment.
This payment option might help you manage your expenses, but it does not save you money or lower your drug costs.
